ICON President has Concerns About Ibach as USDA Undersecretary

One Nebraska cattle group leader has concerns about State Ag Director Greg Ibach who’s been nominated as a USDA Undersecretary. His Senate confirmation hearing is set for this Thursday. Independent Cattlemen of Nebraska President Dave Wright says if Ibach is confirmed he needs to keep in mind the view of all cattle producers.

He says there isn’t any question that Ibach has the experience needed for the job.

However, Wright says his group differs with Ibach on issues such as animal identification as they don’t want USDA to force a mandatory program on cattle producers.

Wright is hoping Senators will closely scrutinize Ibach before confirming him for USDA Undersecretary for Marketing and Regulatory Programs.
