The Independent Cattlemen of Nebraska will be hosting their third public forum on property taxes next week in Norfolk. ICON President Dave Wright says it starts at 7pm at the Norfolk High School. He says the Governor and the Legislature have failed to address the high rate of property taxes and his group is looking for a solution.

He says the property tax problem is compounded by the failure of the state to adequately fund all the schools.

Wright says one of their speakers will be Omaha Attorney Dave Domina and he’s hoping they’ll get some possible solutions from him on the issue.

Joining Domina at the forum Tuesday August 28 will be State Senators Jim Scheer of Norfolk, and Tom Briese of Albion along with Linda Richards, past President of the Nebraska Association of School Boards.
