The Independent Cattlemen of Nebraska are hosting a public forum on property taxes. Omaha Attorney Dave Domina will address the group in Norfolk Tuesday night at the high school. He’ll be talking about the history of property taxes in Nebraska, the state’s constitution and how the state got to where it is right now with one of the highest rates in the country.
He says one of the possible solutions to rising property taxes may involve future court action.
Domina says he’ll be joined at the forum by a pair of State Senators and a former leader of the state education association. He’s hoping other elected officials and other community leaders will be involved to help solve the problem.
The forum is at the Johnny Carson Theater at the Norfolk High School starting at 7 p.m. on Tuesday August 28.
