This week a Federal Judge in Minneapolis dismissed a challenge brought by the American Farm Bureau and National Pork Producers council against the EPA. Those ag groups were seeking to block EPA’s ability to release public information regarding clean water concerns. Iowa Citizens For Community Improvement is an intervener in the case backing EPA. ICCI Executive Director Hugh Espey says the Judge made the correct decision to protect the public’s right to know.
Espey doesn’t see the information EPA’s releasing as detrimental to privacy.
American Farm Bureau and National Pork Producers Council have 60 days to decide whether or not to appeal the decision.
