Iowa Citizens for Community Improvement State Policy Organizer Adam Mason says the top issue to come out of their just concluded convention is to improve water quality in the state. He says to accomplish that they’re trying to get stricter environmental rules enacted.
Mason says ICCI members will also weigh in with members of the State Environmental Protection Commission in order to get better environmental rule enforcement.
He says they’re also working to push forward economic, social and environmental justice issues. He says that part of that effort will be to advocate for higher and more livable wages for everyone.
Mason says their group’s membership has now risen to 3300 members. He says they had over 350 attend the convention.
