An Iowa poll released Thursday of 800 respondents showed 51 percent believe more study should have been done before the Dakota Access Pipeline project was approved. Iowa Citizens for Community Improvement State Policy Director Adam Mason says the poll results are telling that most people in the state oppose the oil pipeline.
While 51 percent wanted more study the poll also shows 30 percent believe enough study was done while 19 percent were not sure. Mason says this poll shows more are against the project than were in the past.
He says besides the environmental concerns there are many problems with misuse of eminent domain connected with the project.
The $ 3.8 billion Dakota Access pipeline will transport up to 570,000 barrels of crude oil daily across four states going from North Dakota across South Dakota and Iowa into Illinois.
