Following this weekend’s rally against Corporate Agriculture in Des Moines, Iowa Citizens for Community Improvement members are now working on implementing their ag vision. ICCI Organizer Jess Mazour says they’re attempting to work with the State Department of Natural Resources to get more local control over large livestock operations.

She says another important part of their Ag Vision calls for community based renewable energy, mainly wind and solar.

Mazour says they’re also putting together legislative proposals they want to take to state lawmakers in January including local control of swine operations and some tax issues.

Mazour says they’ll also be fighting against any state legislative attempts to lessen manure applicator rules.
