Iowa Citizens for Community Improvement members are concerned about a recent study released by the State Department of Natural Resources. It’s related to a proposed rule due out next month by the State Environmental Protection Commission.  ICCI Farm and Environment Organizer David Goodner says the DNR analysis is flawed.

Goodner says his group believes the DNR is pushing forward information that will slant opinion against the proposed rule.

He says ICCI supports most of the proposed EPC rule that’s due out in March although they’d like to see stronger language. He says they’d like tougher clean water act permit rules.  Once the rule is out, there will be a 3 to 6 month period held for public comment.
