Iowa Senators Joni Ernst and Chuck Grassley along with Indiana’s Mike Braun have introduced the Define WOTUS Act this week. The bill legislatively defines waters of the United States and makes a definition of the term permanent. Iowa Cattlemen’s Association’s Government Relations Director Cora Fox says her group backs the measure.

She says ICA members want clean waters but regulations that are reasonable and clearly understood.

Fox says they intend to work with the EPA as they rework the Clean Waters Rule and hope to keep most of the Navigable Waters Protection Rule in place.

Both Grassley and Ernst sent a letter to Agriculture Secretary Tom Vilsack to express concern over the Biden administration’s decision to roll back the Navigable Waters Protection rule.
