Iowa Governor Kim Reynolds is leading a trade mission to China in July. Joining her on the trip are representatives of several of the state’s ag groups. Iowa Cattlemen’s Association President Mike Cline says China represents an important market for Iowa’s ag commodities, including beef.
Cline will be joining the mission and says one of their priorities is establishing and fostering relationships with potential Chinese companies who want to purchase American products.
He says in June U.S. negotiators will also be in China working on establishing protocols for U.S. beef trade and they hope to build upon that.
The Iowa group will be in China from July 19 to July 28.
