The Iowa Cattlemen’s Association has sent a letter to U.S. Ag Secretary Tom Vilsack regarding the use of a payment limitation on COVID 19 relief for cattle producers. ICA’s Director of Government Relations Cora Fox says the USDA was slow in putting out additional COVID payments intended for cattle producers and also put a limitation on those.

She says ICA wants the USDA to know their payment limitation doesn’t fit what Congress intended.

Fox says there are many cattle producers denied pandemic funds that experienced significant losses.

Several feeder cattle operators were left out of the aid due to the USDA imposed payment limitation.
