Huskers Triumph, Hawkeyes Survive

Nebraska won its second straight and Iowa survived an elimination game on day two of the Big Ten baseball tournament in Omaha.

The Huskers tallied another one-run victory with a 3-2 decision over Michigan State. The second seeded Huskers broke a 2-2 tie with a seventh inning run.

Nebraska will face the winner of Friday’s Iowa-Michigan elimination game on Saturday.

Iowa stayed alive by beating Minnesota 2-1 on Thursday.

The other games saw top seed Indiana best Michigan 5-0 and Illinois eliminate Ohio State 6-5.

Thursday’s crowd of 11,756 was a single day tournament record. The new record two day total is 22,156.
