Huskers Lead Anniversary Team

The Football Writers Association of America has announced its 75th Anniversary All-American College Football team.

Nebraska led the nation with 6 players selected, including guard Will Shields, Center Dave Rimmington, Return Specialist Johnny Rodgers and Defensive Tackle Ndamukong Suh as first team selections.  Guard Dean Steinkuhler and Quarterback Tommy Frazier were 3rd team selection.

Iowa’s Calvin Jones was 2nd team guard.

Roger Staubach was named 1st team quarterback, with Archie Griffin and Herschel Walker as first team running backs.  Tim Tebow was 2nd team quarterback and running back Barry Sanders was also named to the second team.
