Huskers, Gophers Host NCAA Events

Nebraska and Minnesota will be among seeded teams hosting first round action this week in the NCAA Volleyball Tournament.

The Huskers are the #5 seed and will play Ball State on Thursday in Lincoln. Northern Iowa and Missouri play the other first round game there. The winners meet Saturday.

The Gophers, the #7 seed, face Fairfield Friday in the Twin Cities. Iowa State and Creighton are the other two teams there. The winners meet Saturday.

The University of South Dakota, regular season champions of the Summit League with a 27-2 overall record, was left out of the NCAA Tournament.

The Coyotes were selected as one of eight hosts for the first two rounds of the 32-team National Invitation Volleyball Championship. Coming to the Sanford Coyote Sports Center Thursday are Central Michigan, UNLV and Kansas City.
