Nebraska escaped with a win over McNeese State but the close call cost them a spot in the Associated Press Top 25 Football ratings.

The Huskers landed just out of the top 25, receiving the most votes of any team not in the elite section.

Florida State remains the top rated team, but second place Oregon continues to cut into their lead. Rounding out the top five are Alabama, Oklahoma and Auburn.
