Tulsa assistant coach Britney Brown is joining the Nebraska women’s basketball staff.

Cornhuskers coach Connie Yori announced Tuesday she has hired Brown as assistant coach and recruiting coordinator.

Yori called Brown a “talented young coach who has been influenced by a pair of outstanding head coaches in Sherri Coale at Oklahoma and Matilda Mossman at Tulsa.”

Brown was at Tulsa four seasons after two years as a high school assistant. Prior to that she was video coordinator at Oklahoma.

Brown played at Oklahoma from 2004 to 2007. She replaces Shimmy Gray-Miller, who took an assistant’s job at Florida this month.
