In her budget address this week, South Dakota Governor Kristi Noem proposed spending a total of two hundred million dollars on new housing options across the state.

Representative Roger Chase of Huron chaired a summer study committee that came up with several bills dealing with housing. He says the Governors suggestion was much more than they were going to ask for…

Chase says there are a lot of detail that have to be worked out…

The Governor also proposed hundreds of millions for water and sewer projects. Chase says that is necessary for any housing development….

Chase says the nine bills that came out of their committee will still probably be introduced into next months legislative session.
