HSUS Official Denies Budget Issues

Humane Society of the United States officials are brushing off a report by the Center for Consumer Freedom that says the group has laid off ten percent of its staff amid a $20 million budget shortfall. HSUS Senior Policy Director Joe Maxwell says the group putting out that report has been an outspoken opponent of HSUS and are against sustainable agriculture.

He says HSUS has just gone under a reorganization.

Maxwell admits some of their ag advisory members have left the group because of disagreements with HSUS.

Maxwell says while some of HSUS’s assets have gone down in the early part of this year, they are expected to come back as many Americans typically wait until the end of the year for their charitable giving.
