This week the House Ways and Means Committee is expected to take up tax incentive measures including the biodiesel tax credit. Committee Chairman, Congressman Richard Neal is including several incentives in their consideration. National Biodiesel Board director and Nebraska farmer Greg Anderson says he hopes they pass the package soon.
He says while they’d prefer a long term tax credit passing any extension would be welcome.
Anderson says not having the tax incentive in place has created a lot of uncertainty for the biodiesel industry and that’s been costly.
Anderson encourages soybean producers to use biodiesel as they book their spring planting fuel needs as it will help bolster the ag economy at a time it’s needed.
