The House goes back into session today following the Independence Day Holiday recess and will work on a measure to change the Endangered Species Act. Public Lands Council Executive Director Dustin Van Liew says they support the appropriation measure that contains several amendments to revise or block the Endangered Species Act.
Van Liew says it’s important Congress revamp the Endangered Species Act so it doesn’t have to be dealt with every year.
Van Liew says besides addressing ESA concerns, the legislation also fixes tax concerns and pushes back against the EPA and the Corp’s Clean Water Rule.
Van Liew says his group is hoping the legislation gets approved although he says the amount of funding that ends up finalized in the bill is still up in the air.
