The U.S. House are expected to resurrect the Trade Adjustment Assistance Act, which was defeated Friday, and brought down the Trade Promotion Authority bill. South Dakota Farm Bureau President, Scott Vanderwal says TPA is needed to put the U.S. at the table on trade agreements.
While the measure passed on its own it was tied to TAA, so he’s hopeful some changes can be made to move both measures.
Vanderwal says his group and others will be working to get the House to approve the trade package, so Trade Promotion Authority can move forward.
