House Speaker Introduces Stimulus Bill That Includes Aid For Biofuels

Tuesday, House Speaker Nancy Pelosi introduced the fourth stimulus legislation called the HEROES Act. The measure includes a provision that establishes a new Renewable Fuels Reimbursement Program at the U.S. Department of Agriculture. American Coalition for Ethanol CEO Brian Jennings is pleased this bill provides help for the ethanol and biofuels industry as the first three CARE packages excluded ethanol and biodiesel.

He says the deep losses seen by biofuel producers were caused mainly by the impacts of the pandemic.

Jennings says while they’re hoping for passage in the Senate, at this point it looks like a bit of an uphill battle.

Jennings says they’ll be working to convince Senators from both parties to agree to the measure House Speaker Pelosi came up with for a fourth stimulus bill.
