The House has voted to pass the Regulatory Integrity Protection Act. The measure blocks EPA from implementing their Waters of the U.S. rule. South Dakota Cattlemen’s Association President Todd Wilkinson says the measure would stop EPA’s regulatory overreach.
Wilkinson is optimistic about the chances of passage of the Anti WOTUS measure in the Senate.
Wilkinson says it will be a challenge to get enough votes to override the expected Veto. He says however it could conceivably be attached to another measure if necessary.
278 votes would be needed to achieve an override in the House while in the Senate 60 votes are necessary for a two thirds majority.
