The House passed a health care bill yesterday by a narrow margin of 217 to 213. Kansas Congressman and doctor Roger Marshall says the American Health Care Act will be a better plan for those self-employed like farmers.
Marshall says the health care legislation needs to address the high cost of health insurance and health care. That is a resounding theme he hears from farmers and small businesses.
He says the American Health Care Act will also help hospitals in states that did not participate in Medicaid expansion.
The Congressional Budget Office has yet to score the plan. It now moves to the Senate where it will face an uphill battle to get passed.
