A group of 40 Democratic House members are urging the Speaker of the House and House Ways and Means Committee Chairman to extend the expired tax credits including biodiesel before the end of the year. National Biodiesel Board’s Paul Winters says renewing of the biodiesel extenders credit is badly needed as several biodiesel plants have shut down as a result of the expired incentive.
He says their hope is that those House Democrats can get the House leadership to pass those extensions soon.
Winters says normally Congressional action on the tax extenders don’t get brought up until the end of the year which makes it difficult to get them passed.
The dollar per gallon biodiesel and renewable diesel blenders credit expired in 2017 and has been in limbo ever since.
