The House Energy and Commerce Committee is working on improving access for broadband services in rural areas. Committee member, Arizona Congressman Tom O’Halleran says they’ve made some progress on broadband which is badly needed for many uses.

He says both economic development and agriculture must have reliable broadband services in order to flourish.

O’Halleran says his committee has been partnering with the FCC in trying to improve broadband opportunities in both rural America and on reservations.

O’Halleran says the Senate also has broadband legislation proposed that has $85 billion in funding.
