Tuesday, the House Science Committee held a hearing looking at the costs and benefits of the renewable fuel standard. Renewable Fuels Association President and CEO Bob Dinneen says the arguments put forth by oil company representatives were the same false anti-RFS arguments used in the past.

He says a food company spokesman brought up the food versus fuel argument which was refuted several years ago.

Dinneen says there was a 50 year drought during 2012. He also says another false argument is that ethanol is driving up fuel prices.

Dinneen says the oil companies are starting to show their desperation in the Beltway where they’re running a huge number of ads trying to discredit the Renewable Fuel Standard.
