The U.S. House Climate Committee has released their report providing recommendations for future legislation in Congress to tackle climate change. That report says ethanol is part of the solution to reducing greenhouse gas emissions. American Coalition for Ethanol CEO Brian Jennings says that’s significant as it’s a shift in how Congress now views ethanol as one of the keys in benefitting the environment.
He says the committee’s report also shows how increased usage of biofuels helps the environment by continuing to reduce those greenhouse gases.
Jennings expects the climate committee’s data to prompt more legislation that recognizes the low carbon benefits of corn ethanol.
Jennings says having properly crafted ethanol policy can spur low carbon fuels, reduce costs to consumers and provide meaningful economic benefits to biofuel producers and farmers.
