Congress must pass a continuing resolution to keep the government operating before the current budget runs out September 30. House Agriculture Committee ranking member, Texas Congressman Mike Conaway says without that CR, funding for needed agricultural programs will run out.

He says the House’s continuing resolution does not include a replenishment of Commodity Credit Corporation funding which the USDA uses to fund agricultural programs including the farm bill.

Conaway says with no funding of CCC under the Continuing Resolution, all payments to farmers and ranchers will cease until November or early December.
