House Agriculture Committee Chairman Mike Conaway says the biggest sticking point for the farm bill when the House Senate Conference committee meets will be work requirements for SNAP participants.

He says he is willing to compromise with the Senate when the conference committee meets to craft a final farm bill.

Conaway says he will continue to oppose any payment limits or lessening of the safety net.

Conaway says he’s looking forward to working with Senate Ag Committee Chairman Pat Roberts who will chair the farm bill conference committee and wants to see a new farm bill passed before October 1.
