The number of people experiencing homelessness is up 10-percent across Minnesota. The statewide study, conducted by Wilder Research every three years, counts the number of people on a single day staying in shelters, domestic violence shelters, and transitional housing. Spokeswoman Rebecca Sales says they sit down with every person and conduct a thorough one-on-one interview to see what led to their homeless situation
Sales says the number of people sleeping in encampments, cars, or on public transportation was up 62-percent between 2015 and 2018.
