Yankton police received a report last night of an attempted home invasion in the 1300 block of Cedar Street. Yankton Police Chief Brian Paulsen says the homeowner was able to scare the three individuals off without incident. That was reported about 9:30 last night. Then at approximately 10:30, other residents reported being robbed at gunpoint by four individuals.
Paulsen says in a release that in the initial investigation, officers determined the two incidents were related and that the suspects had left the area. Mitchell Police made contact with the suspects’ vehicle during the night and have arrested 2 males:
Demil Spears and an unidentified second male are in custody.
A third and fourth black male (unknown identity) along with Hailee Horn, a female, are being sought for questioning in the incident.
The investigation is ongoing at this time. Paulsen says they have no photos to display and believe that the victime were targeted by the suspects.
Paulsen says they are looking for a Black Ford F150 pickup with license plate 8DD419. Paulsen says the subjects should be considered armed and dangerous, and to notify local law enforcement if the truck is sighted.
