North Dakota Senator John Hoeven met with farmers and agricultural officials in Mandan last week to talk about the government’s second market facilitation program and issues effecting agriculture. Attending was North Dakota Farm Bureau Director of Public Policy Pete Hanebutt. He says most want to know more details about how this second program will work and what producers should do to receive payments.
He says there are more questions than answers this point about the MFP 2.0 program.
Hanebutt says most North Dakota’s farmers are optimistic about this year’s planting and market opportunities.
Hanebutt says it was good the Senator held the meeting and listened to the producers. They hope Hoeven will take their concerns back to Washington to share with other members of the Senate.
