Hillary Clinton campaign officials met recently with California Air Resources Board members to talk about a possible shift in policy from supporting the RFS to a more market oriented approach, similar to CARB. That’s concerning to biofuels backers. Nebraska Ethanol Board Administrator Todd Sneller says the CARB system is not reliable.
He says the current RFS is working well and it wouldn’t be wise to change it now.
Sneller says it’s tough to say whether Candidate Clinton would drop support for the RFS in favor of the CARB approach, so it’s important to keep questioning her and her opponent Donald Trump about their commitment to renewable fuels.
Earlier Republican Presidential Candidate Donald Trump said he supports the mandates in the RFS.
