A proposal by the state Department of Transportation to change some four lane roads to three lanes in Bon Homme County is getting a reaction.
Some segments of Highway 50 expand to four lanes near Tabor and Tyndall. The plan would change those to two lanes, with a passing lane in those areas.
Senator Bill Van Gerpen of Tyndall says there isn’t local support for that type of change…
The plan would cost about fourteen million dollars. Van Gerpen says those costs could be cut with some changes to the proposal…
Van Gerpen says the roads could still be upgraded and save some money…
Van Gerpen says he will pursue the issue in the next legislative session if the D.O.T. doesn’t change its plans.
