A high-speed pursuit last night ended in downtown Yankton with an arrest.
The South Dakota Highway Patrol says the pursuit started at 9:53 p.m. near the intersection of 309th Street and 451st Avenue – two miles south of Volin.

The driver was 36 year old Joeleonn (joe – leon) Ward of Yankton. He was driving a 2014 Chrysler 300 that almost hit a Highway Patrol trooper head on. The vehicle failed to stop, and the trooper began the pursuit. The pursuit went to Volin and then continued into downtown Yankton. The driver left the vehicle and was subsequently arrested. Driver suffered minor injuries.

The Highway Patrol continues to investigate. Ward faces a number of charges.
