Herbicide Availability Brings Uncertainty to Weed Control in 2022

Herbicide prices are up for 2022 and supplies are very uncertain due to various global events, so that means farmers will need to plan their weed control program carefully this season.  Winfield United Agronomist Ryan Wolf says the product shortages continue to snowball due to supply chain and herbicide production issues.

He says many producers will be looking at different tank mixes and lower rates to make those products stretch.

Wolf says producers will need to line up product as early as possible and look at every option for their weed control program this season.

He says they will be looking at more pre-emergent control this season because of the uncertainty of getting post emergent products in a timely manner for application.
