Nine chefs competed in the South Dakota Pork Producers Council Taste of Elegance Contest in Sioux Falls last night. National Pork Board Treasurer Steve Rommereim says the contest started more than 30 years ago and has evolved into a premier competition that’s helping to increase the amount of pork featured on restaurant menus and ordered by consumers.

Chef Roger Titze with The Attic Bar & Grill was back competing with a new pork dish this year.

The youngest chef in the competition was Nicholas Skajewski with Carnival Brazilian Grill. He says he loves cooking with pork.

The winner was Chef Ryan Hembree with Trail Ridge Retirement Community.
