More than 50 percent of working Americans have some kind of pension plan through their employer, whether a 401k or other type, that will help them pay for retirement. There are lots of folks who don’t completely understand how their plan and any associated benefits work. David Bonello is Project Director for the Upper Midwest Pension Rights Project. He says many people have lots of questions.
Bonello says that the Pension Rights Project offers services to anyone that are absolutely free to make sure that employees are receiving everything their pension plan offers them. They serve residents in South Dakota, North Dakota, Iowa, Minnesota, and Wisconsin.
He says that last year, he helped region residents collect about $2 million dollars of pension plans and benefits through the Pension Rights Project. More information can be found at pension help dot org.
