Heineman Defends Death Penalty Record

Former Nebraska Governor Dave Heineman is defending his position on the death penalty after reports that the state’s former prosecutor of death penalty cases says he was under the impression not to pursue executions over the past four years.

Heineman is puzzled as to why comments like this were made when his record shows he is a supporter of the death penalty.

Heineman is also confident that Nebraskans for the Death Penalty will succeed in their petition process and the issue will be on the November 2016 ballot.
