Heineman: Corrections Problems Can Be Fixed

Nebraska Governor Dave Heineman is confident the problems that have been rolling through the Department of Corrections can be fixed.

A number of inmates were released early when their sentences were miscalculated. Several department employees were disciplined or retired early in the wake of an investigation.

Heineman says it will take some time to correct the issues…

Heineman says the next Governor and legislature will also have an opportunity to weigh in…

 

Heineman will appear today before a legislative committee that has been investigating the situation.
