Trey Heid became Augustana’s all-time leader in passing yards leading the Vikings to a 44-31 road win over Wayne State College (2-4, 1-1 NSIC South) at Bob Cunningham Field on Saturday.
Augustana (4-2, 1-1 NSIC South) scored 17 points in the third quarter to pull away from the Wildcats. Heid finished the game completing 23 passes for 310 yards and four touchdowns giving him 9,728 passing yards for his career, the most by any quarterback in Augustana history
. Heid broke a 16-year old record that was held by Eric DeGraff. DeGraff passed for 9,500 yards from 1997-2000 for the Vikings. Heid also led the Vikings in the running game on Saturday, finishing with 68 yards and a touchdown on nine carries. Heid got his top two targets in on the mix this afternoon as Matt Heller and Charlie Hayes combined for 13 catches, 210 yards and four touchdowns.
