Augustana University senior quarterback Trey Heid has been named the Northern Sun Intercollegiate Conference Offensive Player of the Week following his eight-touchdown performance at Concordia-St. Paul on Saturday.
Heid, a 6-foot-2, 199-pound quarterback from Lakeville, Minnesota, completed 19 of 30 passes for 393 yards and five touchdowns. Heid also ran the ball five times for 37 yards and a career-high three touchdowns.
He set Augustana’s single season passing touchdown record in the win. Heid has thrown a league-high 37 touchdown passes in 2016. Heid ranks second in the country in touchdown passes this season and enters the final regular season game ranked fourth in the country with an Augustana single season record 3,299 passing yards.
He became just the second player in NSIC history to throw over 100 career touchdown passes in last week’s win over Concordia-St. Paul. Heid has thrown 100 touchdown passes in 43 career NSIC games and 101 in his career.
