Heavy Rains Submerge Some South Dakota Fields

Heavy rains over the weekend saturated some fields in McCook County South Dakota. County Farm Service Agency Director Leah Turgeon says they received anywhere from 1 and a half to three inches over most of the county which put parts of some fields underwater.
Turgeon says she doesn’t expect anyone to replant yet but that could happen in the future if more heavy rains fall later this week.
Turgeon says once a farmer gets done planting they should call for an appointment and get their acres certified, even if they haven’t signed up for any farm program yet.
