Heartbeat Bill Stopped in the Nebraska Legislature

The so called “Heartbeat bill”, LB626 was derailed last week in the Nebraska legislature when a motion to shut off debate was defeated. The motion needed thirty-three votes and got thirty-two.

District 40 Senator Barry DeKay of Niobrara says it’s unlikely the bill can come back this session…..

DeKay says it will be tough to get many bills debated and passed this session…..

Senators have about twenty legislative days left on the ninety-day calendar.
