The Senate Judiciary Committee will hold a hearing today focusing on government abuse of regulations and the need to make the system more transparent and accountable. Chaired by Iowa’s Chuck Grassley, the committee will hear an example of what they’re trying to address with a recent Environmental Protection Agency proposal.
Grassley says they’ll also be looking at what steps Congress can take to reign in agencies that are expanding their powers to make them more accountable.
Grassley says he has introduced a measure, the sue and settle bill, that would require government agencies to be more open.
Grassley says another example is the latest RFS volume requirement rule proposed by the EPA.
