Aaron White tied his season-high with 23 points to lead Iowa to an 80-70 win over North Florida on Monday in the Hawkeyes’ final game before Big Ten play.

Peter Jok scored 12 points in his first career start and Jarrod Uthoff added 10 points and 12 rebounds for the Hawkeyes (9-4), who snapped a two-game losing skid.

Iowa’s 16-point lead late in the first half quickly melted down to five points. The Hawkeyes used a 9-0 run keyed by a White dunk and Uthoff 3-pointer to hold on to the win.

Trent Mackey scored all 18 of his points in the first half to lead the Ospreys (7-6). Mackey shot 6 of 8 on 3-point shots.

The Hawkeyes made 26 of 28 free throws. White made all eight of his foul shots and finished with nine rebounds and five steals.

North Florida shot 46 percent but had 20 turnovers.
