Iowa offensive coordinator Greg Davis says the Hawkeyes are switching to a two-quarterback system.

Davis says junior Jake Rudock and sophomore C.J. Beathard have both earned the right to play. Davis says there won’t be a set number of snaps for each quarterback, adding that playing time will be decided by “feel.”

Rudock, a junior, started 17 straight games before sitting out last week’s win over Purdue with a leg injury. He’s completed 67 percent of his passes this season, but just 6.3 yards per attempt.

Beathard, a sophomore, made his first career start against the Boilermakers. He was 17 of 37 passing for 245 yards, a touchdown and an interception that Purdue took back for its only TD. Iowa (4-1, 1-0 Big Ten) hosts Indiana on Oct. 11.
