Hartington Man Dies in Car – Pedestrian Accident

The Cedar County Sheriff’s Office says a Hartington man has died in a car – pedestrian accident.
55 year old Dan Liese (lye-zee) was hit by an east bound car being driven by 72 year old Alton Halle (like alley) of Hartington. The accident, on Highway 84, just west of the Highway 57 junction, on the south edge of Hartington was reported just before 6PM Monday.
Liese was flown by Lifenet to a Sioux City hospital where he died from his injuries. Liese was part of a volunteer group working on the grounds of the cemetery at that intersection.
The accident remains under investigation by the Cedar County Sheriff’s Office.
