Hall of Fame players Paul Molitor and Ryne Sandberg were managing against each other, making the spring training game between the Minnesota Twins and Philadelphia Phillies a unique matchup.
The Hall said it believes Monday’s game in Clearwater, Florida, marks the first time two of its members have faced each other as major league managers.
Molitor is in his first full season with the Twins. Sandberg is in his second full year.
David Buchanan allowed two hits in five innings, Cody Asche hit a two-run homer and the Philadelphia Phillies beat the Minnesota Twins 3-0.
